SPINNING is an aerobic exercise that takes place on a specially designed stationary bicycle. As you pedal, motivating music plays and the instructor guides you through a series of hills, sprints and jumps. During the class you vary your pace -- sometimes pedaling as fast as you can, other times cranking up the tension and pedaling slowly from a standing position. This helps you to focus inwardly and work on your mind as well as your body. Spinning burns serious calories (about 500 in 45 minutes) and offers an awesome aerobic workout that makes your heart pump fast. It also tones your quads, outer thigh muscles abs and arms like nobody's business! And although you follow the general instructions of the Spinning teacher, you are in control when it comes to your pace. You can finish a Spin class, regardless of your fitness level, simply by adjusting your pace or the tension knob on the bike!

PILATES is a complete process which focuses on lengthening and strengthening your center (abdominals and back) resulting in beautiful posture alignment and structure.  Other benefits include:

Strength Training: helps prevent injury by strengthening muscles, increasing bone density and has been proven to increase metabolic rate. The more muscle you’ve got, the more calories you’ll burn...even at rest. This class is 50 minutes of action and play! Toys may include stability balls, gliding disks, bands, rubber balls and the grown-up dumb bells and body bars for the more mature audience.

Core Barre: This class blends ballet barre conditioning, yoga postures, mat work and strength training exercises to create a lean physique while improving flexibility and core strength. Be prepared to use a variety of props including balls, gliding discs, light weights, resistance bands, and more. 

  • Core Barre is offered at BOTH Revolution studios! 

Barre PLUS: Do you love Cardio/Core Barre and feel you're ready to add just a little more strength and intensity into your workout? We've designed the perfect class for you - Barre Plus - and it's exactly that! While we stay true to the amazingly effective barre based class we currently offer through Cardio Barre and Core Barre, with Barre Plus we are going to take it just a bit further! Our goal is to help you increase your stamina by using more resistance, completing faster sets to increase the heart rate and caloric burn, and peppering in some challenging props such as Gliders or the large exercise balls. If 20 pushups just isn't enough for you these days this class has your name written all over it!

  • Barre PLUS is currently offered only at the Santa Monica location on T/Th @ 10:15am. 

REV 20/20/20: This class breaks it down and will give you all you need.   Beginning with 20 minutes of Core based and focused work that will then be incorporated into 20 minutes of Strength and toning work.   The goal will be to burn out the muscles of focus for that day.  Finishing it off with a 20 minutes yoga sequence that will stretch and lengthen all the muscles that were worked.

  • REV 20/20/20 is offered at BOTH Revolution studios (morning and evening options)! 

Yoga Strength: This class will challenge the most athletic (YES even you MEN) and provide a solid foundation for the beginner strength & yoga student. Yoga poses and strength exercises will be performed using light weights to increase the caloric burn and build overall strength.

  • Yoga Strength is currently offered at Santa Monica location on Sunday mornings at 8:00am

PILATES MAT A great full body workout focusing on core strength, flexibility, balance and length. Workouts are safe yet challenging and emphasize correct posture and alignment. Pilates props may be used for support, challenge, variations and modifications. Come find your "Center" with Pilates mat work for a healthy mind and body. Revolution Venice Yoga Classes:

Yoga: Experience the fusion of strength, flexibility, and balance with this dynamic 50-minute flow series.  Regular yoga practice can help reduce your risk of injury and prevent muscular imbalances associated with over-training. Bonus: Enhance sport performance, improve posture/alignment, and perfect your spin form with yoga. Yogi virgins welcome!

Yoga 75: This vigorous flow class is ashtanga based yet fitness forward with special attention paid to alignment and breath! It is appropriate for all levels and specifically focuses on creating openness in the hips and hamstrings (which often become tight in cyclists and runners). An extended savasana completes this energetic yet tranquil flow. * 75-minutes


Revolution Santa Monica Yoga Classes: 

YIN-Yoga: Also called Taoist Yoga, this discipline employs holding poses much longer than traditional yoga.  It facilitates deep stretching of connective tissue giving permanent sustained results.  This class will focus primarily on opening the hips.  Great for athletes and beginners alike!

 

FOAM ROLLER STRETCH CLASS What every enthusiastic (sometimes overly-enthusiastic) athlete needs...a class designed to help ease muscular tension from over-use and other daily stressors. Yoga, Pilates, ballet, and Myofascial / Active Release techniques are utilized to increase range of motion, help break down scar tissue, improve circulation, and instill a sense of calm. Mats, foam rollers, bands, and other "props" provide variety and promote flexibility. Limited class size so be sure to sign up early!!

 

REV 30/30: Two 30 minute sessions designed to give you all you need in one power hour! This unique format is exclusive to Revolution Fitness Venice and is offered daily at 11:15am.

  • Spin 30: The spin ride is based off of the H.I.I.T. model (high intensity interval training) which has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to burn fat and improve your fitness level. Expect drills, hills, and FUN!
  • Strength 30: Learn why less can be more in this “non-traditional” strength training class that focuses on upper body and core/abdominal conditioning. Get FIT in under 30 minutes using only gliding disks and a stretch resistance band that suspends from the *Yoga Wall to increase strength, endurance, power, mobility, and vitality. We guarantee you will never pick up a dumb bell again!
